The South Carolina Gamecocks and the Texas A&M Aggies meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Reed Arena. South Carolina is fresh off a win over Ole Miss last weekend which moved the Gamecocks to 22-5 this year. As for Texas A&M, they’re 15-12 overall following a loss to Tennessee. Let’s get into our South Carolina vs. Texas A&M prediction. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Pick Dawgz.

South Carolina Gamecocks

The Gamecocks went 14-3 to kick off the season, losing to only Alabama, Georgia and Clemson in that time. South Carolina is 8-2 in their last 10 games with wins over Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, Georgia, Ole Miss (twice) and Vanderbilt alongside losses to Auburn and LSU.

In their rematch with LSU over the weekend, South Carolina got off to a great start. The Gamecocks were up 36-22 by halftime and cruised from there on a 37-36 run for a 72-59 win. Leading the team in the victory was BJ Mack with his 17 points, two rebounds and two assists.

Texas A&M Aggies

Over on the Aggies’ side, they posted a 15-8 run over their first 23 outings with losses to FAU, Virginia, Memphis, Houston, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas and Ole Miss. It’s been a four-game losing streak since then however, as Texas A&M has dropped to Vanderbilt, Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee in that time.

On the road in the rematch versus Tennessee back on Saturday Texas A&M faced a 37-27 deficit going into the second half. The Aggies didn’t get any closer on a 49-24 run and lost 86-51 in blowout fashion. Wade Taylor (five assists) and Tyrece Radford (four rebounds) each had a team-high 11 points.

ANDREW’S FREE SOUTH CAROLINA VS TEXAS A&M PREDICTION

I’ll go with the Gamecocks in this one. South Carolina handled Ole Miss well over the weekend, holding the Rebels to just 33.3 percent shooting and 3-of-16 (18.8 percent) from 3-point range with a 44-34 advantage on the boards. It was a nice bounce-back after scoring just 124 combined points in a pair of losses to Auburn and LSU in the previous two games.

As for Texas A&M, they’ve been struggling on an 0-4 run during the last quartet, but to be fair there were some tough road matchups during that time (Alabama and Tennessee in particular). Getting back home should provide a lift to the Aggies, but if South Carolina plays well I think they can keep Texas A&M at bay for a cover opportunity.

Andrew Jett's Pick: South Carolina Gamecocks +4.5
