The Missouri Tigers and the Florida Gators meet Wednesday in college basketball action from O’Connell Center. Missouri is fresh off a loss to Arkansas that dropped the Tigers to 8-19 overall. As for Florida, they’re 19-8 and coming off a win over Vanderbilt. Let’s get into our Missouri vs. Florida prediction. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Pick Dawgz.

Missouri Tigers

The Tigers started out on a 7-2 run, but they’ve only won one game since December 3 (over Central Arkansas). Missouri is currently riding an ugly 14-game losing streak. falling to Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Arkansas in their last half-dozen games alone.

In the Arkansas game on Saturday, the Tigers came out of halftime with a 36-34 deficit. Missouri trailed on a 52-39 run the rest of the way and lost 88-73 in the end. Sean East led the team in the losing effort with his 33 points, three rebounds and two assists in 38 minutes of work.

Florida Gators

Over on the Gators’ side, they managed to post an 11-6 run through their first 17 games. Florida has been even better since then on an 8-2 stretch. The wins in that time have come courtesy of Missouri, Mississippi State, Georgia, Kentucky, Auburn, LSU, Georgia and Vanderbilt.

In the Vanderbilt matchup last weekend, the Gators got off to a fast start. Florida was up 35-20 by halftime and cruised from there on a 44-42 run to power out the 77-64 victory. Tops in scoring was Will Richard with 21 points, four rebounds and three assists alongside a pair of steals.

ANDREW’S FREE MISSOURI VS FLORIDA PREDICTION

I’ll stick with Florida I suppose. The Gators didn’t have too many issues against a struggling Vanderbilt team in their last outing, hitting 46.7 percent from the field with 37 rebounds and 17 team assists. Florida held the Commodores to just 35.7 percent shooting on the other side as well. That makes 77 or ore points in five straight games—a 4-1 stretch.

The Gators pulled off a 79-67 road win the last time these teams saw each other back on January 20. Despite a bit of a slow start in that one, Florida finished strong and eventually bagged a 40-27 rebounding edge (13-4 offensive) with just eight turnovers. Being back at home for the rematch should help push the Gators to a cover.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Florida Gators -13
