The Buffalo Bulls and UMass Minutemen face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. The last time these two teams faced off was in 2015 and UMass won 31-26.

Buffalo comes into this game with a 3-3 record overall and they are coming off a big win in their last game against Bowling Green. Buffalo put up 38 points against Bowling Green and that was enough to win by 31. Under center for Buffalo is Cole Snyder and he completed 12 of his 19 passes for 171 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. The Bulls on the season are averaging 29.8 points while their defense is giving up 27.3 points per game. In this game, if the defense is good, Buffalo will be in good shape.

On the other side of this matchup is the UMass Minutemen who sit with a 1-5 record overall and they are coming off another loss in their last game. UMass gave up 42 points to Liberty and they really didn’t have much of a shot to keep the game close. Garrett Dzuro completed 5 of his 7 passes for 83 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. UMass this season has really struggled to score and they are averaging only 12.8 points per game. The defense is giving up 31.7 points per game.

Buffalo is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games against a team with a losing record. UMass is 3-7 against the spread in their last ten games in October. The under is 4-1 in Buffalo’s last five games in October. The over is 6-2 in UMass’s last eight games against the MAC. UMass is 5-12 against the spread in their last 17 games against the MAC.

UMass scored 24 points in the last game and this Buffalo defense has sown that they have some holes. In this game, look for UMass to score at least 24 points again and that will be enough to keep this game at least close. I don’t think they win this game, but they will cover the spread. I expect they will keep this within 10 points.
